The wooden base of this cross has been hanging around in my studio for years...... so I painted it off white and covered it in vintage buttons! I really love the shabby chic look of it!
This is the leaning T brand I did in red vintage buttons for my oldest daughter. I love to make gifts for my girls for Valentine's Day. This will be a part of that!
This is our 4K brand that I did to hang somewhere in our home. It's big and covered in vintage white buttons. Love it!!!
This is the tie throw that I did for our little grandson. He loves all things John Deere!
I found these dragonfly napkin rings at a little shop in Whitesboro, TX while we were out shopping on Saturday. I loved them when I saw them but we are not really linen napkin types. It struck me that they might just work as tie backs for the drapes in my studio. Luckily they did!!!! I love the way they look!!!
This is the DK brand I covered in vintage black buttons for my youngest daughter. Her Valentine's Day gift for this year. Shhhhh don't tell!
We had a great weekend! We had lots of fun conversation and shopping and got some crafting in at the same time! I love the creative ladies that are part of my life!
Thanks ladies for a wonderful 4 days of friendship and fun!

Pinterest Projects!!!!
Well I am one happy girl because I have an amazingly handy husband. He is hooking me up with a drawer and an under table pullout ironing board for my work table!!!!
He also cut me small panels of wood for my button letter projects! Now I just
have to pick up some rubber cement to attach the cowhide.
I am super excited about the weekend and just hanging out with the ladies
and working on projects and visiting and catching up!
We have planned the menu and activities are scheduled for Saturday
morning! So it is going to be a great weekend!
More cleaning of closets is planned for next week so I plan on making
the most of the time to play!!!

Headbands have become my new passion!
I found this fun type of headband and decided to see how creative I could get with them!
The collegiate ones have been really popular!
I only wish I could find some TCU fabric!
This vintage looks is one of my favs!
I have made them for few shops between here and Childress.
I'm meeting with a shop owner in Altus, OK this week to get her set up! I'm really excited about it since EVERYONE seems to be doing jewelry, this sets me apart from the crowd.
Don't get me wrong I LOVE making beautiful jewelry out of FINE silver. But people are so overwhelmed by all the jewelry on the market, it's hard to get them to understand what it is I do.

Creative weekend with the girls!!!!
I have the privilege of belonging to a group of highly creative "sisters by choice" women!
We get together at least once a quarter to spend time enjoying each others company.
We drink and eat. We create fun projects, and learn new things.
We call it "The Gathering of the Goddesses"!
It is usually a weekend full of laughter and sharing of stories.
We come together at a lake house retreat that belongs to one of the ladies who is
generous enough to share t with us. This quarter we chose to meet MLK weekend
so that we would have a long weekend to spend together.
I have picked out projects to work on over the course of the weekend. Now
it's just a matter of getting all the supplies!
It's a great way to start off the new year! I can't wait to see what creations await!
Cleaning out closets!!! Day 1.......
January 3, 2012
Who knew that one walk-in closet could produce 5 bags of trash and 2 bags of donations?
I do now! I spent the better part of the day cleaning out one of the closets in my studio. There were a lot of things to throw out, but there were also some amazing finds!!! The first of the finds was a stash of cowboy themed fabric and some white flannel. Perfect for a quilted throw I have been planning to make! The second was a vintage Samsonite train case that I didn't even know I had in there!!!!! I am a collector of vintage Samsonite. I use the suitcases to showcase my wares at shops and craft shows! My mannequin heads fit perfectly in the train cases so this was a thrilling find for sure! I also came across the backpack my youngest daughter used in her travels to Australia some years back. Her older sister will love to use it on her summer research trip to Belize!!!! All in all it was a great day! Purging unwanted and unneeded from my studio is ever so liberating! I feel more creative already!!!

Welcome 2012!
It's that time again! Time to ring in a new year. I have been busy purging and cleaning
out 2 spare bedrooms. Oh the things you find in closets! Some of which my two daughters
left when they left home. Now this is not a recent turn of events!
They have been gone since 2002 and 2004. So purging has been a walk down
memory lane as well as a "where the heck did that come from" sort of experience!
I have also been sucked in by a website called "PINTEREST"....
I have also been sucked in by a website called "PINTEREST"....
I can only assume it was developed by someone who wants me to spend
countless hours looking for new projects to start when I have countless
projects to finish already!!!!
2012 is full of possibilities already!!! I am definitely up for the challenge! Bring it on!
